Trigger warning: rape, physical abuse, emotional abuse, miscarriage, death of a child, murder
Blurb:
A tragic accident. It all happened so quickly. She couldn’t have prevented it. Could she?
In a split second, Jenna Gray’s world descends into a nightmare. Her only hope of moving on is to walk away from everything she knows to start afresh. Desperate to escape, Jenna moves to a remote cottage on the Welsh coast, but she is haunted by her fears, her grief and her memories of a cruel November night that changed her life forever.
Slowly, Jenna begins to glimpse the potential for happiness in her future. But her past is about to catch up with her, and the consequences will be devastating . . .
My Thoughts:
In this book, we follow the fall out from the horrific death of a child from a hit and run. We split views between Jenna and a detective working the case. This book is really dark and hard to get through. There were so many twists and turns that I was definitely not expecting.

I think Clare Mackintosh did a great job leading the audience in such a misleading direction. I was so sure I knew what was going on and what was going to happen but I was so wrong and I love it when that happens.
One downside I had with this book was the massive jumps in time and it did take me a bit to catch up with where we were at the next point.
I enjoyed watching everything unravel and see what the truth was but I do have to say that Ian is one of the most disgusting characters that I have ever read, I honestly wanted to beat him to a pulp! It was so hard reading his sections of the book because ugh! But don’t worry he definitely got what he deserved!
Overall I did enjoy this book, it was faced paced but the only downside (apart form the dark content) was the time jumps.
