Blurb:
How do you raise a child to be a feminist?
Here are fifteen compelling, direct and perceptive suggestions to empower a daughter to become a strong, independant woman.
Together they start a new and urgently needed conversation about what it really means to be a woman today.
My Thoughts:
This book is short but contains punch after punh of how to be a feminist. I know that many people have different ideas of what it is to be a feminist but they all have the same base beliefs:
– Women should be treated equally to men
– Just because you were born with a vagina instead of a penis, doesn’t mean that you are ill-equipped to do certain tasks.
The knowledge of cooking does not come pre-installed in a vagina.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
This book comes from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie writing a letter to her frined about how to raise the friends daughter a feminist and there are so many beautiful suggestions and examples of what to do and why.
I love this book because it is always amazing to have your beliefs and thoughts confirmed by someone as amazing as Chimamanda, she is honestly one of my favourite people and authors because of her beliefs and beautiful writing.
If you are raising children, or if you have no children, if you are a man, a woman young or old you should 100% read this book. It is only 61 pages long and will make you re-evaluate the way you are thinking.
Please get yourselves a copy here.

The quote made me laugh so I knew I had to add it to my reading list. As a mom to both a son and a daughter, I think it is so important that we lift up all of our children and teach them the life skills they need. Thanks for the suggestion.

I couldn’t agree more, and it’s so important to teach both girls and boys equally about equality.
