Blurb:
What if you had the chance to live your life again and again, until you finally got it right?
During a snowstorm in England in 1910, a baby is born and dies before she can take her first breath.
During a snowstorm in England in 1910, the same baby is born and lives to tell the tale.
What if there were second chances? And third chances? In fact an infinite number of chances to live your life? Would you eventually be able to save the world from its own inevitable destiny? And would you even want to?
My Thoughts:
In this book we follow the many lives of Ursula Todd. Everytime Ursula dies she starts her whole life again and has to learn from what happens previously until she gets it right and is able to move on.
I really enjoyed this book, it is such an interesting concept, imagine being able to re-live your life over and over again until you get everything right.

Ursula and her sister Pamela have a great relationship and can talk about anything together despite the year and the general status of women in those times and how women were supposed to be submissive and if anything happened it was their fault.
I do wish Maurice, the oldest Todd child and son would have been developed a bit and he became a bit more likeable but he remains quite unlikeable, however, Teddy and Jimmy are extremely sweet and really nice.
I found it really interesting how Ursual would change just the smallest things in her life and it would change the outcome drstically and I loved that.

This was a decent book, but it was very long and I lost interest about half way through! I do like the concept though!

I haven’t heard about this book yet. Thanks for sharing the deets. I enjoy the concept of many lives since reading Many Lives Many Masters. A fictional take on the same topic would be interesting.

It sounds good, but also it sounds exhausting to be Ursula and I would hate it!
Excellent review 🙂

Sounds like a nightmare to keep reliving your life until you lived the “right” life. Who or what defines what is the “right” life you have to live is?

It’s until she lives. I guess no one can really define ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to live

Great review, but I wonder what getting it right at life really means. I am intrigued

Sounds like a Reincarnation concept. Is this the same author who wrote Still Alice? That movie made me bawl!

No Still Alice is by Lisa Genova, I looked it up just now and wow that would make me have a break down I think!

What an interesting concept for the book! And very cool that the smallest change in Ursula’s behaviour would change her course. Personally, I would never want to live like that. I feel like a lot of “mistakes” in life lead us to different paths that aren’t necessarily better or worse. And even death can’t be traced back to any one mistake. I like the idea of having just one life you have to make the most of.

I know what you mean, you learn from mistakes anyway!

It kind of reminds me of Every day by David Levithan or that A Dog’s Purpose movie! With Every day, the lead gets to live different lives of humans while the dog in the said movie lives another life right after he dies. I actually like this kind of concept – reincarnation. Thanks for your review!

What a unique idea! That sounds like a really cool concept and it would be super interesting to see how the character would adapt to something like that. Thanks for sharing!
