No Way Down – Graham Bowley

Wow this book just really hits home about how dangerous K2 really is.

On an expedition to K2 on August 1st 2008, 11 climbers died, all of whom were experienced climbers. Graham Bowley describes in great detail the success and the suffering of those climbers so survived.

The description makes you believe that you are really there and witnessing it all. During the success I felt proud and elated but during the disasters I felt devastated.

This book truly shows the heroism and comradeship between climbers, the heroism and just how brave people really are. It really drives home that in need people will be there for you even risking their own lives.

I believe that climbing K2 is truly a brave act but people need to be aware of how dangerous the mountain is. It doesn’t care if you have a family, if you are in love, it doesn’t care about you but it will show you how beautiful the world can actually be.
